Throwback – Millennium Park Opening Day 1, July 16, 2004

There was no formal name yet for the structure, but people were already calling it The Bean because of its shape. Note the seams of the stainless steel panels that make up the structure.

It’s going to be a teenager in about eleven days! It, being Chicago’s Millennium Park. The park will celebrate its 13th year on July 16. I was there during the first day and took several hundreds of photos, unfortunately, the external hard drive in which I stored the files crashed and could not be resurrected. I managed to save a few photos though, which I am reproducing in this post.
